Hi. I'm Jen McCormack, the owner and home inspector behind Gable to Ground Home Inspections.

I've spent the past seven years inspecting homes across California, Idaho, Utah, and now Texas. Along the way, I've learned that a great home inspection is about more than finding defects. It's about giving you the information you need to understand the home you're buying, and having someone you can feel comfortable with and trust to be in your corner.

I'm here to be a resource to you, and provide a thorough, honest inspection without making the process intimidating.

I'll take the time to explain what I find, answer your questions, and help you understand what deserves attention now, what can be monitored, and what may simply be part of owning a home.

What is included in a home inspection?

A home inspection is a visual assessment of the structure's systems and components, providing a detailed report on its condition. I am looking at the home as a whole, and will refer you to specialists for any defects found. Included in my TREC licensed inspection is an evaluation of the roof, exterior, foundation, plumbing, electrical, and interior. 

How long does a typical inspection take?

The time it takes for any inspection may vary based on the property's size and age, but typically it ranges from 2 to 4 hours for a standard home.

Do I need to be present during the inspection?

Not at all, though I welcome the chance to meet you! You are welcome to attend for a Q & A after I have wrapped up the on-site portion of your home inspection. Or, if you cannot be present (we are all busy people), I am happy to call you with results afterward, or answer any questions you have once you've reviewed the finalized report.
